Lake Management Committee is excited about the addition of several new members
to their committee.  Their membership consists of: Frank DeSort, Linda Wolff,
Dave Sobieski, Don Congdon, Julia Tyde, Dave Woitas, Mary Pikarski and Willie
Kootstra. If you have questions or comments about lake issues, you can leave a
message at the Village and somebody will get back to you. Or better yet, attend
one of their meetings. There has been an increase in resident involvement at the
meetings!  Meetings are the fourth Saturday of the month, at Village Hall, at
9:00 a.m.  Due to the upcoming Holidays, the Lake Management Committee will not
be meeting until January 2012. A great deal of time was spent this year
researching different solutions for the duckweed issue. It is next to impossible
to eradicate once it’s established, so they’ve begun discussing ways to keep
it from entering the lake. This is also difficult since the spores are carried
on the feet of ducks and geese.
Next year, the committee is due for their Lake County Water Assessment. This
will provide important information regarding the health of the lake.  Also, the
Committee has decided to hold Carp Fest again next year.
