Island Lake News: Island Lake Woman's Club Island Lake Woman's Club ================================================================================ Andy Gehron on 12/15/2011 07:00:00 The Island Lake Woman’s Club has been an important presence in the Village of Island Lake for many years. This year again, they are grateful to all who made their Annual Ways and Means Luncheon a resounding success. For the first time the guests of the Island Lake Woman’s Club enjoyed a high tea with all the trimmings, followed by a fashion show presented by The Dress Barn. The members cooked, baked and decorated up a storm that resulted in over 60 attendees, and a successful fund-raising event. The Island Lake Woman’s Club actively supports and works for the local schools and libraries, and many other charities including the USO, the Veterans Administration, the Heart Fund, Smile Train, Heifer International, and the American Indian Center in Chicago. They are especially proud of the work they do in planting and maintaining two of the garden entrance gates to the Village. The Island Lake Woman’s Club actively seeks new members to join them in their fellowship and to give of themselves in service to the community and in helping with their many charitable causes. Any woman interested in learning more about the club or attending a luncheon meeting is invited to call Joan Kreiling at 847-526-6540 or Juel Olmsted at 847-526-8741. Meetings are on third Thursday of the month and luncheon is served at 12:00 P.M. followed by the day’s program.
