Chicago Auto Car Show Preview
Island Lake News was on hand for the media preview of the 2011 Chicago Car Show. Lake County Residents are urged to consider going in the evening when the crowds thin, and the parking rates fall by nearly 50% tp $10 after 6pm at most McCormick Lots.
Still, the discounted parking is more than the entry into the $8 show. There are many hybrid and electric highlights of the show including the Chevy Volt, which officially was given the hardware at 3:35pm on Wednesday for becoming Motortrends Car of the year. A very short ride around test ride is offered with cute and well informed drivers in a very eco landscaped scenerio. Still don't fight a long line for this 2 minute experience on a track with top speeds of only 4mph.
Highly tricked out Lexus, and new Gull- Wing Mercedes, high flying Charger, Camaro, Corvette and a dazzling SAAB Eco Display with one of the most impressive lighted backgrounds will round out many highlights. Be dazzled by Deer Parks Continentals simply amazing in dash interior technology in the Hyundai automobiles.
Peak times are weekends and you can drive to Millennium Park and take shuttles to the show.
