BULLDOGS WIN MAJOR AWARD

On Sunday, February 27th, three thousand people clamored into the Bailey Auditorium to take part in WingFest, an annual chicken wing competition which showcases twenty of Chicagoland’s best restaurants and their wings. Of them, only one could be dubbed top dog for the coveted BBQ category. That honor went to Bulldogs Grill of Wauconda, the small town phenomenon that put the rest of the big city competition in the kennel. With their hauntingly delicious Zombie Boogie BBQ wings they were able to capture the crown and win their first major award.
The sauce used for the victorious wings is a specialty of Chef Aaron Aggarwal, co-owner of Bulldogs. He combines the sweet, melodic pineapple with the ever aggressive habanero pepper to create a sauce that is bone rattling tasty and scarily addicting. One doesn’t have to fear though; the sauce is very mild on the consumer’s tongue and like a warm hug from man’s best friend, it triggers a groan of ecstasy.
This award winning combination is far from over though. Bulldogs is looking into the future for other competitions to partake in. Chef Aaron and partner Joe Kafka hope to soon display their signature burgers, not only to confirm that they have created the perfect patty but to also serve the restaurant’s patrons. “We plan to keep entering as many competitions as possible. It keeps our minds sharp and our staff educated.” For now though, they are just enjoying the sweet victory...
