Holiday Shopping Local
With the holiday season fast approaching, many people forget the true nature of the season and begin to be filled greed. This season is one of giving not receiving. There are plenty of opportunities—within the community—to make this season exactly that while being convenient, unique, affordable, and help small town entrepreneurs prosper. One opportunity presents itself through the Legion Hall’s winter craft show. The craft show is Saturday December 3 from 9am-4pm and Sunday December 4 from 10am-3pm. Shoppers will be able to find original, handmade products that are sure to make the perfect present or even a stocking stuffer.
Another option to find gifts for all is at the fourth Annual Holiday Bazaar at Vickie’s Personal Touch in Wauconda. Items found at the Holiday Bazaar include everything ranging from baked goods, jewelry, handmade ornaments, candles, wool hats, teacher gifts, and accessories for your hair. The hours are as follows:
Saturday December 3 8am-2pm
Tuesday December 6 9am-7pm
Wednesday December 7 9am-8pm
Thursday December 8 9am-6pm
Friday December 9 9am-6pm
Saturday December 10 8am-2pm.
The final shopping opportunity offered to the community without having to travel too far is the holiday mall at Cotton Creek grade school in Island Lake. The holiday mall will be Saturday December 3 from 10am-3pm.
