Senior Property Tax Relief Workshop

The Wauconda Township Assessor's Office will host a workshop to explain the IL Homestead Exemption Program agailable to senior citizens to provide property tax relief.

The workshop will be Thursday, February 2nd at 9:30 am at the Wauconda Township Community Hall, located at 505 W. Bonner Road in Wauconda.

Pat Oaks, Wauconda Township Assessor, encourages property owners nearing the age of 65, seniors age 65, and anybody older, their families, and senior care givers to attend the program.

Representatives from the Lake County Chief County Assessment Office and the Lake County Treasurer Office will discuss qualifications and procedures to apply for these programs.

Also available will be a representative from the Wauconda Community Bank to discuss Reverse Mortgages.

Leslie Rohrer, Wauconda Township Senior Advocate, will provide information on the IL Senior Citizens Circuit Breaker Grants.

Reservations are encouraged, as seating is limited. Refreshments will be provided.
